Clockwork Dreams

Enthusiastically Unstable; Eloquently Retrotech

Do you draw? If so, I have a potential offer for you!

NOTE: I am no longer doing this.

Here’s the deal.

I want a new profile image for Twitter/this blog/wherever else I feel like putting a profile image. I don’t really want to draw it myself – plus, my scanner is broken.

Instead, I am asking you, charmingly talented individual that you undoubtedly are, to draw me some lineart. If I like it, then I pay you $10. If I really like it, I will most likely pay you more.

Entry Guidelines
Whatever you draw, it needs to include the following points:

  • The drawing should be line art. Clean line art. If you feel the need to color it you may do so, but you’d need to throw it in “for free”, so to speak.
  • The focus should be a single girl, preferably smiling. Whether it is a friendly smile or an I-am-going-to-blow-this-joint-to-kingdom-come smile is entirely up to your judgement.
  • Her hair needs to be long, but not beyond waist length; either in a ponytail of any variety or a braid.
  • Steampunk aesthetic, goggles optional. If you are using the goggles to make it look steampunk, then as my dear friends would say, you’re doing it wrong.
  • No skimpy clothing. If she is not modestly clad, I will cleanse the page with fire.
  • I like cool-looking coats/jackets. They are always a plus. I have a particular fondness for those inspired by somewhat militaristic or piratical style, as well as dusters.

What You Get
This is, to be honest, more of a non-competitive contest than a job offer. I won’t be going “okay, you drew the best one, you get the ten bucks”. However, I will be going “I like this picture, here’s ten bucks.” Or conversely, “this drawing doesn’t really work for me, sorry, you don’t get the ten bucks and here’s your picture back”.

If your drawing catches my fancy, then you get $10. I can send this to you via PayPal, or mail you a check, or what have you. If I look at your drawing and think “holy shit, this is amazing”, then I will pay you more. However much more depends on a) how amazing it is, and b) how much money I feel I can afford to give you.

What I Get
I will receive full rights to use your lineart for whatever personal, non-commercial use I feel like using it for, with whatever modifications it pleases my little heart to make unto it, upon your receipt of my payment.
