Clockwork Dreams

Enthusiastically Unstable; Eloquently Retrotech

Hurray, continents!

I have finally – FINALLY – solved the issue of continent placement on my moon-world in a way that suits everything. The solution: there are three continents. One is the primary continent – the planetward one – and is larger than the other two. About the size of the other two combined.

Said largest continent is shaped… oh, I’ll draw a picture sometime. The two main points are that part of it caps the north pole, and there is a major mountain range that separates the polar region from the rest (and then continues down along the eastern coastline aways). The polar region is uninhabited, because a) you would need to cross the Khitari mountains, and b) that is where The Cataclysm happened.

There is also a small continent at the south pole, with most of the bulk on the far side. The third continent is slightly larger than the south pole continent and is roughly equatorial in location.

(I have GOT to figure out a name for this place.)

The problems I was having were needing two specific things: One, the places the ‘ari inhabit need to always have the gas giant in the sky. And two, the poles need to be land instead of ocean to help prevent the world from snowballing (turning into a permanent ice age).

This neatly encompasses both!
