About

Not enough information about me below?
Go ask for the missing bits here! It’s completely anonymous, too, unless you want it to be otherwise.

Origins of my Alias
I was inspired recently by a reported search hit to my blog looking for the “meaning of inventrix” to do a bit of a writeup on where my alias (Inventrix, or The Inventrix if you want to be formal) comes from. It’s really quite simple. A person who invents is an inventor, yes? Of course. But! If you look at the linguistic patterns, -tor is usually a masculine form when the term has gendered versions. In the case of actor, it turns to actress. In the case of dominator, it turns to dominatrix. I prefer the sound of inventrix to inventress, so I used it. In other words, an inventrix is simply a woman who invents things!

About the Site
This is my personal blog. It is where I write about whatever things I happen to feeling like writing about. Plain and simple!

About Myself
This is the ‘about’ page, after all, and this is my personal blog. (If you didn’t know that, well, now you do!) So, I shall tell you a little bit about myself.

I’m a young woman in my mid-twenties, with a full-time job and a myriad of interests. Too many, really! However, my one overarching passion is for writing fiction. I currently have one complete and utterly unedited novel draft, as well as a couple of other writing projects in the works and you don’t want to know how many projects I have in the queue. Some of the projects I post about on here, so if you read it you probably already know.

What else? Well, I love steampunk, in the retrotech and Victorian-era-that-didn’t-really-exist sort of senses. I seem to have created quite the image for myself as some sort of steampunk fanatic about the internet, which amuses me greatly (until people assume it’s my only interest, at which point it starts becoming mildly aggravating). I used to be a bit of a steampunk elitist-purist, then I realized it and thought “well isn’t that rather hypocritical of me?” and proceeded to stop. Yes, it was that easy.

I also have a shop on Etsy which is currently empty, pending enough free time to finish some things to sell on there.
