NaNoWriMo output from Day 6

Disclaimer: The following fiction is completely unedited and may very well be utter trash. I take no responsibility if you read it and feel like you have wasted precious minutes of your life.
Disclaimer 2: I’m playing major catch-up, so this is excessively long. Just so you know.

Change of plans re: NaNoWriMo, pars duo, and an exerpt

Inventrix | November 6, 2009

Since I changed what I was doing for NaNoWriMo (again) a few days ago, I realized today that I might as well post the draft (in all of its terrible glory) on here after all.
Here’s the part I wrote on November 2nd. What I write today will be posted at the end of the day/tomorrow.

Impossible Dreams and a Steampunk Lifestyle

Inventrix | October 1, 2009

I have a lot of things that I’d like to do in my life. Too many, in some respects. I’m generally good at recognizing the practicality/plausibility of achieving each of them, and in some cases trimming the ideas down to make them more doable.

But there is one such dream that I have which I honestly don’t think will ever happen, mostly because the first requirement would be having lots of money. And I mean lots of money. As I like to tell myself frequently, however, there is always the chance (however infinitesimally small) that I will someday come into a very large quantity of money, so sometimes I pass my mental idle time by planning out the logistics of achieving this dream if I had the money.

I’m sure by this point you’re thinking “is she going to tell us what this idea is or not?!” Whyever would I do that? (Just kidding.) The idea can be summarized in a single, simple sentence, actually.

Create a steampunk town.

Operation: Education Continuation. Stage Three: Re-evaluation and re-planning

Inventrix | May 22, 2009

I have finally gotten myself over to the community college and talked to people. I did get to talk to an advisor about transfering and stuff, and he was very helpful and informative.
That’s the good [...]

A Public Promise

Inventrix | May 15, 2009

I figure the more people who know of my goals, the more motivation I’ll have to not embarrass myself and miss it. So, here we are.
I am writing a novel right now, which I started last weekend. My current goal, then, is to complete the first draft of the manuscript (meaning, get through [...]

In Search of a Person of Significant Artistic Ability

Inventrix | April 18, 2009

It’s no good. I am afraid that I must admit defeat.
You see, I write. I currently have two novels in progress, one of which I intend to have the first draft completed and be well on the way to the second by autumn. In addition, I have a series of… well, short [...]

Operation: Education Continuation. Stage One: Planning

Inventrix | April 16, 2009

The process has begun!
It’s been a while since I last went to college, and I still don’t have much to show for it other than some university apparel and a few thousand in loans. I still dream of someday having a real college degree. So, a few months ago, I decided that this [...]
